How to Use UnitMgr

When UnitMgr is first opened, you will see a slider at the top, followed by a text box, then two more sliders.

  1. 1.Slide the top slider to select a category of units to convert. This is because it is not possible to properly convert dissimilar units. For instance, you can’t convert seconds (TIME) to feet (LENGTH). For this reason, whenever you move this slider, the units selected in the sliders below will be reset to no selection.

  2. 2.Tap the text box to enter the number that you want to convert. Once you enter the number, select the “Done” button in the bottom right corner of the popup keyboard.

  3. 3.Slide the middle slider to designate the units that go with the number you entered. For instance, if you typed “55” into the box and that number is “MILES/HOUR”, make that selection in the middle slider.

  4. 4.Now slide the bottom slider to the desired units that you want to convert to. The calculated solution will now appear in the bottom in the pastel green field.

If you change either of the bottom two sliders or the amount in the text box, a new calculation will automatically happen. If you move the top slider, the bottom two sliders will reset to no units and the green field will be blank.

Obviously, if you set the middle and bottom sliders to the same units, the answer will be the same as the number you entered in the text box.

Beginning with version 1.1, if you receive a phone call and have to return to UnitMgr, the previously entered data input into UnitMgr will be “remembered” by UnitMgr so that you don’t have to retype a number or slide a slider again.
